Terra Firma is looking for a creative, organised and highly capable Social Media Content Creator to join our team.

If you love creating social media content, have a strong eye for design, are highly proficient in Canva, and understand what makes content stand out on social media, we want to hear from you.

This is a hands-on creative role working across a variety of clients and industries. You will be responsible for turning ideas, briefs and brand guidelines into engaging social media content that looks professional, communicates clearly and gets attention.

What You’ll Do

• Create engaging social media content for a range of clients and industries.
• Design high-quality social media graphics, carousels, stories, reels and other digital content.
• Develop content concepts and contribute creative ideas for clients.
• Edit organic photos and videos.
• Adapt content to suit different platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, etc.
• Work from creative briefs and brand guidelines while maintaining consistency across each client’s content.
• Create and manage monthly social media content calendars.
• Write engaging social media captions with the assistance of AI tools where appropriate.
• Schedule and publish content using Meta Business Suite and other platforms.
• Resize and adapt creative assets for different platforms and campaigns.
• Keep up with social media trends, formats and content styles.
• Work efficiently across multiple clients while meeting deadlines.
• Make revisions based on client and internal feedback.
• Use AI tools intelligently to improve your productivity and creative output.
• Assist with admin and marketing tasks as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

Strong Canva skills are essential. Whilst AI is a good tool, we don’t think it is fair to our clients to take their money and create AI slop. Let’s keep it as real as possible.

You should have:

• Understand branding.
• Proven experience creating professional social media content in Canva.
• A portfolio demonstrating your design and social media work.
• A strong eye for layout, typography, colour, spacing and visual hierarchy.
• An understanding of what makes social media content engaging.
• The ability to create a high volume of quality content without sacrificing attention to detail.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
• A willingness to learn, take feedback and continuously improve.
• A professional, positive and calm approach in a fast-paced agency environment.

You Will Have an Advantage If You Have

• Experience working in a marketing or digital agency.
• Experience creating content for multiple brands.
• Experience with Meta Business Suite.
• Experience creating Reels and short-form video content.
• Experience with Canva animations and motion graphics.
• Experience with Meta Ads.
• An understanding of basic social media analytics and performance.
• Experience using AI tools for content creation and productivity as required on occasion.

The Person We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is creative but also highly organised.

You need to be comfortable taking a brief and turning it into finished content without needing constant supervision. You should enjoy design, notice the small details and take pride in producing work that looks polished and professional.

You also need to be comfortable working with multiple clients, different industries and sometimes tight deadlines.

Most importantly, you should love creating content and want to become better at it.

Location & Working Hours

Office-based – Durbanville

Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

This is a full-time, office-based position. You will work alongside the Terra Firma team and collaborate directly with colleagues on client projects and content.

Requirements

• Own laptop.
• Strong Canva experience.
• Reliable transport to and from the office.
• Portfolio of previous social media/design work.
• Ability to work from the office Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm.
